Spain being one of the liveliest countries in the world has so much in store, from their must-see landmarks, beaches, cuisines, and to their festivals and so on. Madrid as one of the big cities in Spain, they too have major festivals that are being celebrated every year, and some of these festivals are the San Isidro Festival which is the city’s fiesta and San Antonio Festival.

The feast of San Isidro is celebrated every 15th of May; this is a big celebration and the most important festival in Madrid, this is because San Isidro is the patron saint of the city. This is a month-long celebration in honor of their patron saint. There are numerous parties around Madrid; you will find weekend parties at the Plaza de las Vistillas, Puente de Segovia, and the Plaza de San Andres. You will also find concerts, fairs, art exhibits, parades and so on. In line with this festival, the traditional castizo is worn, which is a traditional dress and you will find delicacies such as barquillos which is a rolled wafer, fritters and doughnuts around Madrid; these are plenty during the festival. Bullfighting fair is famous in this festival, usually held at the bullring, Plaza Monumental Las Ventas.

The feast of San Antonio is celebrated every 13th of June. The tradition during this festival is that young girls will have a date at the hermitage. There are also variety of concerts, dancing, fairs and other events around the city during this festival.
