Gran Via StreetThe best way to know better the city of Madrid is through touring or wandering around. You will never appreciate the through beauty of the city and you will never appreciate your stay in Madrid if you just let yourself lock in one of the hotels Madrid. Walking is basically the common way to tour the city and there are some streets that you should not miss to include in your Madrid tour walking.

Walking at Madrid de los Austrias—this part of Madrid is one of the pristine part of the city since the Golden Age period. Walking through its narrow streets with its red brick buildings will help you realize its historical background. Right here you can start your tour in the Plaza de la Villa.

Walking at Calle Mayor—if you start your walk at Calle Mayor there will be a lot of streets you can pass by such like Puerta del Sol, Catedral de la Almudena, Plaza Mayor and Plaza de la Villa. Walking in Calle Mayor is a great opportunity to view the old parts of the city.

Walking at El Rastro—this is located at the core of the city, designated as the most common part of Madrid. This is also famous in Madrid as the largest flea market. This part of the city also is one of the most favorite destinations of both the locales and tourists mostly during Sunday afternoon just unwinding, eating tapas or shopping.

Walking at Palacio de Santa Cruz—this is one of the most stunning architecture in Madrid. This baroque style of building was constructed by Gomes Mora in 1620-1640. Walking around this street would let you know some of the histories of the building.

Walking at Gran Via Street—don’t waste your flights to Madrid if you wont let your feet land and walk around this incredible street of Gran Via Street. This is a good street to walk by if you want to know the daily routine of the Spanish locales. Here you can see people like singers, musicians, dancers and more within the street.
