The striking Royal Palace of Madrid
Madrid is known as the Spanish capital of Spain. For centuries, the city of Madrid is known as the international center. It is also known as the largest city in Spain. Madrid accordingly has an approximate population of over five million people. And because of that, Madrid was designated as the third most populous city in the European Union. It is also appointed as the major core for commerce and international business. Every year Madrid has been visited by millions of people; this is because the city offers various leisure, activities and entertainment. When it comes to their transportation, Madrid boasts their imposing transport network. They also offer the best and exclusive Madrid accommodation.
The city as well is best when it comes about striking buildings and monuments. One of the impressive and historical monuments that they are proud with is the Royal Palace of Madrid or the Palacio Real de Madrid. Historically, the Royal Palace of Madrid is indeed the official sanctuary of the king of Spain who is King Juan Carlos. However, the King does not reside in this place anymore. Instead he decided to leave in the smaller place which is the Palacio de la Zarzuela which is located on the tranquil part of Madrid away from the bustling city. Presently, the Royal Palace of Madrid is owned by the Spanish state and manipulated by Patrimonio Nacional agency.
Recently, the Royal Palace of Madrid is partially open to the public but visitors are not allowed when it is being used in any significant occasions. All over Western Europe, the Royal Palace of Madrid is considered as the largest royal palace which features 2, 800 rooms and a combined area of 135, 000 m². The impressive façade of the palace already allures every visitors visiting here. But they were more impressed with its great designs and decorations which are done by the famous artists such like Tiepolo, Velasquez, Gasparini, Mengs, Goya, Caravaggio and Juan de Flandes. The palace is also worth to visit because of their several royal collections that includes the weapons, Royal Armoury that dates back in the 13th century and more.
