Some Of The Famous Plazas In Madrid

When you think of the capital city of Spain it would be Madrid. Since 1562 the city stands still and remains the center of business, contemporary ways of life and vibrant nightlife. Due to its location, Madrid has a climate during summers as warm dry and cools down during winter. The city of Madrid is said to be the city of incredible monuments and one of them are the medieval center which dates back to the Prado Museum and the Habsburg Empire.
Other interesting things to see in Madrid are its impressive plazas such like the following:
- Glorieta de Bilbao – this plaza has a star shaped roundabout which is named after Bilbao city. The plaza Glorieta de Bilbao is famous due to the fact that it is a cross of popular streets such like the Carranza, Sagasta, Luchana and the Fuencarral. Today, it is one of the most important places when it comes to the city’s nightlife.
- Plaza de Cibeles – features a neo-classical complex of marble sculptures, the fountains that it has here is the main symbol of Madrid. Paseo de Recoletos as the fountain of Cibeles is found in Madrid; it symbolizes the goddess Cibeles or Cybele. The fountain was said designed by Ventura Rodriguez in between. While the goddess and the chariot are the remarks of Francisco Gutierrez and it was Roberto Michel who worked on the lions.
- Plaza de Santa Ana – a plaza particularly located in center of Madrid City. The plaza features some monuments to writer Pedro Calderon de la Barca, Spanish Golden Age, poet Federico Garcia Lorca and various cafés, restaurants and more.
- Plaza de Colon – this plaza is situated in the Alonzo Martinez a district of Madrid, Spain. The fountain and the plaza itself honor the explorer Christopher Columbus. Within the plaza, there are so many views to see that you should not exempt if you are planning to visit here during your vacation at Madrid.
