Madrid is famous in Spain not only because the city is appointed as the capital city of the country but also because of its various interesting places, monuments and structures to see. Perhaps what you can view about the city of Madrid is it crowded and always busy since it is the capital city of Spain, but Madrid is actually one of the beautiful places to visit in the country.

The Parque del Buen Retiro is one of the most famous parks to see in the city. During the weekends the park could be crowded since during this time most of the Madrilenian families are spotted strolling around here. In the streets, you could see various entertainers such like sidewalk painters, musicians, jugglers, fortune tellers, street performers and more.

Historically, the park was built by King Philips IV. It was built in 1632 as a retreat for the royal family. Before, the park could be seen outside the city wall, but today Madrid already enclosed the entire part of the Retiro Park. In 1868, the park was already opened to the public. Its partial part laid out into a French style, while the other parts of the park are more natural.

Among the original palace, there are only two buildings that survived; the rest of the buildings were already destroyed during the Napoleonic war period. The Museo del Ejército which is appointed as an army museum is one of the remaining buildings that survived. The museum houses some artifacts like armors of the past armies. The museum as well is the main place if you want to know the military history of the city. The most significant thing to see in the museum is the sword of La Tizona or El Cid.

But the museum does not only covering weaponry artifacts; there are still other interesting items to discover in the museum—such like the remarkable cross which Columbus took with him going to another world. Aside from Museo del Ejército another building that survived is the Casón del Buen Retiro—the museum houses collections from the 19th and century.

Touted as among the most beautiful places of the world, Madrid’s daily visitors have also increased tremendously, as more and more people from all over the globe would always love to visit Madrid given their free time to take a vacation. This is because this botanical garden contains 30,000 different species of plants, trees, and plants from all over the globe. It was Charles III who was behind the creation of this botanical garden when he was still a faculty member.

Inside the park are also two buildings where art exhibitions and other cultural presentations are also conducted. The rich culture of Madrid, Spain really reminisces a lot, so that students are eager to understand the Spanish conquest to other countries many years ago and the memories, successes and failures of past leaders were properly recorded upon by the historians.

Another interesting park in Madrid is the Rosales and Parque del Oeste located in the western portion of Madrid. Based on record, this park is the most ideal playground for children. There are lots of shady trees when the temperature is strong, large rose garden, spacious lawns. There are also several smaller gardens that are still fine such as the Sabatini Garden, and the Plaza de Espana.

If you wanted to experience magic in its truest form; do not miss to experience it in Crystal Palace in Madrid. I found the Crystal Palace which is located in Retiro Park magical. I witnessed the dancing of colors right before my eyes as the rays of the sun hit the glass that made up the Crystal Palace.

Madrid travel does not only mean visiting El Rastro, Paseo del Prado, Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia, Puerta del Sol, Thyssen Bornemisza or the Plaza Mayor alone. But also a visit to Retiro Park which is the home of the Crystal Palace.

Palacio de Cristal is located in the heart of Parque del Buen Retiro or REtiro Park; it was made of glass and metal built in the year 1887 as a winter garden displaying exotic plants.

The Crystal Palace is dedicated to the country Philippines and made for the 19th Century Exhibition; it was modeled and has similarities with London’s Crystal Palace. The whole structure was reflected dramatically on a small lake near the palace with grey lag geese, black swans and ducks living on the pond. It also painted a picture of bucolic tranquility. Exhibitions to aviary shows are held here regularly. When is best to see the Crystal Palace with or without its exhibitions; it depends on who’s opinion. The structure can be pictured on all views. It always gives a stunning picture results whichever focus or view you take your shots. The work of art is very evidently offered in this glass building.

This glass building is 28 metres wide, 54 metres long and 22.6 metres high made copying the chancel and cross of a church. The Ionic style entrance door is one arm of the cross. Crystal Palace is a single building filled with so many history. From its making until now, it is part of the history of the Spanish land.

It could seal your travel in Madrid. What can you say about Palacio Crystal?
