It does not mean that you got a few euros in your pocket then you will stay with fabulous Spanish city like Madrid. Cheap Madrid holidays are very possible if you know the trick on it.

Here are two tips I would like to share with you for such cheap way as you visit Madrid.

A travel to a city also means a travel to museums, historical sites, and of course a meal on a restaurant. So, whenever you are in Madrid to do all these things make sure that you purchase a Madrid Card; is a card for free access or discounted access to top restaurants and tourist attraction in the city. It can give you much access on Madrid destination without the attached costly entrance fee. Usually the entrance fee to a museum is 3 euros per person with Madrid Card on hand you got a free entrance plus a free ride in Madrid Vision tourist bus. I recommend that you purchase the card if you every intention of seeing two or three tourist attraction per day and you will stay in the city for four or five days for your planned cheap Madrid Holidays. Prado Museum in Paseo del Prado; Reina Sofia Museum in Santa Isabel, 52; Retiro Park in Plaza Independencia or Palacio Real in Bailen ae just a few of the museums who visit for free with this card. It is free to visit Prado Museums during Sundays and 2nd of May, 12th of October, 6th of December, and 18th of May.

The other tip is how to eat cheap in this city. If you chose restaurants close to the tourist destination; then it caters to tourist and therefore very expensive. Keep off those restaurants. So, how can we eat cheaply? Look for restaurants with locals on it. This is an assurance that the food the restaurant serve is meant for the locals thus it is cheaper, more delicious and more Spanish. Yes! You got it right. You got to taste a Spanish food on your stay in Madrid with the least price. If you entered a restaurant with pictures on their menu then it is meant to be expensive too.

Getting discount card and eating inexpensively can already save you on cheap Madrid holidays.

I came across this news about a Spanish Hotel which put up a mini library from books left by guests.

So many things, from chargers to books, had been left by hurrying guest as they catch up flights or train schedules in this hotel. As the books compilation grew it was then stored in a small vitrine, idea of the sales manager. That is the birth of a 250-book library from forgotten books of the guest.

The compilation includes travel guides, novels, and books in English, magazines with pictures of Carl Peterson, and small booklets in Japanese, Spanish, Dutch, English and many more languages.

The variety of languages attests to the diversity of visitors that travel to Madrid. The miscellaneous collection includes cookbooks with conventional Roman recipes, a title or label of Michael Jackson’s dance steps, a journal of Jose Ortega Cano- a Spanish Bullfighter, handbooks for herbal and natural remedies.

Yet, the book that got the most interest from visitors is the Spanish texts of Book of Mormon (Latter Day Saints’ sacred book).

And that now, as the library gain popularity guests intentionally leave behind books to add up to the collection.

This is just one of the many now known whispered secrets of hotels in Madrid, Spain. Secrets that can be revealed if we try to uncover it!

For the architecturally inclined travelers who would be glad to stay in accommodations or architecture made by world know architects like Jean Nouvel, Arata Isozaki and Norman Foster should stay in Silken Puerta America. A very strategically located hotel, which is very near to transport links and Madrid landmarks, with good facilities and thick walled rooms for privacy.

When traveling is akin to shopping then be the first to grab the latest and clandestine display of Madrid’s exclusive boutiques. Book in a hotel nearest to them all- Gran Melia Fenix.

A globe trekker knows that each city has its own characteristic. There are cities best toured by foot for the reasons that tourist destinations are close by and it is impractical to travel by any other means for it will surely impede movements around the place.

There are also cities that have to be traveled by car for it gives you freedom to journey along massive distances to drop in places of interest.

Travel in Madrid for the globe trekkers who got a hand of the city’s ‘places to be’ and trendy hang-outs prefer to travel by car. Though travel by car for the less acquainted by the city is not recommended; of course not only for Madrid visits but also visits to other places.

Yet smart travelers can rent cars and hire drivers who are familiar with the city’s location. Then you can scour the city for its treasure in history, culture, restaurants, Spanish food and Spanish malls.

Start your travel from the heart of the city Plaza Mayor then to the other squares such as Atoch, Gran ViaPuerto del Sol and ; which are a must-see destinations and would surely be given an extra time of exploring for it is bursting with interesting things for tourist to try out from activities to the food.

As the night nears, getting booked in a restaurant or bar for one splendid flamenco evening like the Casa Patas, Corral De la Moreria and Hotel Nuevo Gaos is also a very smart move for travelers.

After an evening of music, dancing and Madrid’s “flamenco once a lifetime event”; you may want to rest your head in an accommodation that fits your lifestyle. From backpackers accommodation to flashy and lucrative one; Madrid can offer you one with ease.

My favorites are Petit Art Gallery, Vincci Soho, Petit Palace Art Gallery, Vincci Centrum, Victoria 4, Malia Castilla, and Gran Melia Fenix. Spend a heavenly evening with these accommodations when you are in Madrid.
