Tauromaquia – Bullfighting

Madrid is the official capital of bullfighting in the world. The most important bullfight season starts around mid-May and climaxes on the San Isidro Festival .
The world s largest bullfighting ring, called the Plaza de Toros Monumental de Las Ventas , is located at the heart of Madrid and could accommodate approximately 24,000 spectators.
A bullfight starts when the matador meets the bull while assessing its size and using the yellow and red cape to wear down the beast. After the introduction, the three sections of the fight follows. These three sections are all about defeating the bull. The match ends when the beast is killed by the matador.
Tickets could be purchased from the venues, ticket offices and other event ticket companies. However, during the San Isidro Festival , it is recommended to purchase your tickets in advance since people worldwide looks forward to this event. The average ticket prices range from to depending on the season.
As well, ticket prices of bullfights range depending on many factors. These factors include the type of bullfight (with or without horses), featured toreros and the location of your seat.
Seats in bullfights are important. You should choose those which are not near the front and not high up the arena. The basic Sol seats are those located under the sun. On the other hand, the more comfortable seats, called the Sombre, are those in the shade.
The bullfight rings are usually open on Sunday afternoons all throughout the summer season.
