Among all of the sports, fútbol is probably the most famous and well participated.
More than 300,000 soccer fans line up for the First Division or the Primera Division every weekend during fútbol seasons around September and May.
There are two sought-after teams in Madrid - the Atletico Madrid and the Real. Both teams and its managing clubs display intense rivalry towards each other.
The Real Madrid s stadium seats approximately 100,000 spectators. In 2002, the Real s museum opened for its 100 th anniversary. Known to be more successful than the Atletico, the group has won seven European Cups. All Real Madrid fútbol players are known all throughout Spain . One of the famous Real players, who has become internationally celebrated, is the hunk David Beckham .
If you wish to experience becoming a spectator in this passionate game, you could buy tickets at the clubs on the day of the game. However, you may also purchase advance tickets from the Puerta del Sol ticket office located at Calle de la Victoria .
The Real Madrid museum is open every Tuesday to Sunday from 10:30 am until 7:30 pm except on match days when it closes 2 hours before the start of the game.
There are three large venues for soccer events - the Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and the Estadio de la Comunidad de Madrid .
The Estadio de la Comunidad de Madrid is located at Avenida de Arcentales . It is one of the leading proposed venues for the Olympics in 2012. You may contact the club for inquiries via phone at 91 720 2400.
