Baloncesto, which is only second to soccer in Madrileños hearts, is Spain s basketball. The basketball season occurs in September until May - marking April as the climax. The city has two best teams - the Real Madrid and the Estudiantes. Spain s Real Madrid is considered as basketball royalty. The team s achievements have stretched even beyond the 1990s Chicago Bulls and the 1960s Boston Celtics. The Real Madrid has won 18 rifles in 19 consecutive seasons. Holding 8 European League titles and 28 Spanish League rifles, the team has come a long way to success dating back from 1983. The Estudiantes meanwhile, is probably the best-supported team of all basketball groups.
