Museo de la Ciudad - City Museum

The Madrid City Museum , with a generous space and five floors, opened only in 1992. The site includes an extensive collection of the city s historical objects and information, which date back from the Moors until the modern times.
The Museo de la Ciudad is also home of rare mementos of famous historical people. It also displays a number of sculptures, paintings and other objects from different periods of Madrid history.
One of the highlights of the City Museum is its detailed description of water, transportation and telephone services in Madrid . Moreover, the museum displays one of the most detailed scale models of the city s important buildings and urban areas.
Free of charge, the Museo de la Ciudad is open every Tuesdays to Fridays from 10 am until 2 pm and 4 pm to 6 pm. During weekends, the museum is only open from 10 am until 2 pm.
You can visit the City Museum by riding the metro going to Cruz del Rayo station.
